The Seafolk had a prophecy that at the end of days, their God would rise from the sea from a specific location to drown the world in divine judgment. That location was Isle Pyros. So it was that when the Seafolk retreated into the ocean at the end of the Goodwill Era, the Terra were quickly launched out of their genocidal debauchery into a global panic when the dragonborn island was dragged underwater in a tidal catastrophe.

Rather than beg the Seafolk and their God for forgiveness, the Terra developed a Continental Alliance led by Pax, Prince of Sembre to infiltrate the Seafolk civilization and destroy the source of their oceanic power: the Nautilus Pieces. When Pax and his seven compatriots set out from Stormhenge on their fatal errand, none believed they had a chance. Yet somehow, they succeeded.

Pax credited their victory to the ingenuity of the Oceanic 8 and the help of the Westling Mermaids, but his story was dubious at best. Other members of his party, like the dwarf lord Noldûr argued that the God himself mediated the disarmament. All that can be proved is that the Oceanic 8 did return with the Nautilus Pieces and a promise that the world was forever safe from the Seafolk and their Apocalypse.
